A list of agencies that regularly have calls to fund scientific projects and are accessible to DIPC scientists. Please contact Olatz Leis or María Tarazona with questions about currently open calls and on how to proceed.

  • New calls will be made public on the comunidad-dipc mailing list whenever they are announced.
  • The Agencia Estatal de Investigacion (AEI) (associated to the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN) has several annual calls including annually one for smaller-scale basic research projects. The expected dates for future calls are announced here, the next one for Proyectos Generación de Conocimiento is expected for November 2023 with resolution by July 2024.
    It is said to be advantageous to apply in groups of two or more researchers. While you are part (PI or team member) of a currently funded project you cannot apply to another one.
  • Individual fellowships: for postdocs there are Ramón y Cajal and Juan de la Cierva by the Spanish government (AEI) and Ikerbasque by the Basque government. Other possibilities include Marie-Curie-Fellowships by the EU, La Caixa Fellowships or BBVA Leonardo Fellowships.
  • The Basque Government opens annually calls for projects of basic or applied research (Proyectos Investigación Básica y/o Aplicada, PIBA)
  • In the coming years there may be specific calls concerning research on quantum technologies with in the IKUR program of the Basque Government.
  • The Diputación de Gipuzkoa regularly offers funding for scientific projects in the GIPUZKOA NEXT framework.
